Historic Paint Finishes Report: The Original Finishes of the Verandah House, Corinth, Mississippi
Room 102
This room was altered in much the same manner as Room 101, however, it appears the added entablature is considerably later than 1921-1929. As noted in the photograph below, the light blue wall finish appears to be contemporary with the added entablature.
It is possible the picture rail was added after the entablature, not the Wall Finish between the frieze and the picture rail. Note the rosettes are quite crude and not the same as seen in Room 101. This entablature is also a twentieth century addition and should be removed.
It is possible early remains of wall finishes (that may include wallpaper) might be found under the added entablature.
