Historic Paint Finishes Report: The Original Finishes of the Verandah House, Corinth, Mississippi

Room 101: Plaster Surfaces - Walls

Room 101: Enzyme Fluorescent Microscopy, result:

Room 101: Wall plaster

Conclusion: The Wall plaster shows the extensive scraping and preparation for oil-emulsion based paints of the early twentieth century. The earlier finishes, which probably included an early wallpaper, and possibly later water soluble distemper paints, were removed.

It is possible some remnants of earlier finishes will be found when the ca. 1921-1929 entablature is removed. It is entirely possible some remnants may remain beneath this later addition.
